LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Calling it “a thank you to our riders and the community,” Lextran is offering free rides this Thanksgiving.

The transportation agency also announced some route changes and special circumstances.
On Wednesday, Route 14 Blue/White (Stadium) will operate from 6:40 a.m. to 6:06 p.m.; Route 26 (Green Route Connector) will operate from 6:39 a.m. to 6:03 p.m.; and Route 15 (Red Mile) will operate from 6:56 a.m. to 6:14 p.m.
On Thanksgiving itself, all routes will operate on a Sunday schedule, meaning typical Thursdays routes will not be in service:
- 14 (Blue/White)
- 16 (Southland/BCTC)
- 17 (Northside Connector)
- 18 (Centre Parkway Connector)
- 21 (Airport/Keeneland)
- 22 (Mercer Road)
- 24 (Old Frankfort Pike)
- 26 (Green Route Connector)
The agency says there will be no service Friday, Nov. 23 for Routes 14 (Blue/White Stadium) and 26 (Green Route Connector).
On Sunday Nov. 25, Route 27 (Yellow Route) will operate from 10 a.m. to midnight.
Lextran Customer Service (859-253-INFO) will be open for phone support and walk-up window service from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
