Hep A Case At Lee’s Famous Recipe In Hazard

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Officials at the Kentucky River District Health Department received a report Nov. 20 of a hepatitis A case at a local Lee’s Famous Recipe.

According to a press released, the individual worked at the restaurant located at 221 East Main Street in Hazard. They were symptomatic while they were working and were directly involved in the preparation of food.

There is a potential for infection of customers who dined at the restaurant between Oct. 25 and Nov. 13.

The management of the restaurant has been notified and they are taking appropriate steps to clean and sanitize the facility. The employee will be off work until further notice.

The health department recommends getting vaccinated if you have not already.
