LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A woman is in jail after being accused of endangering police and others while trying to escape.
Kayla Hameister was arrested around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Police say back in March, they approached Hameister in the 900 block of Corporate Drive.
She was under federal investigation for alleged identity theft.
Police say Hameister sped away in her vehicle, nearly hitting an officer.
We’re told she allegedly threw torn up checks from the vehicle as she sped away, nearly hitting other vehicles.
She faces several charges, including wanton endangerment and identity theft.
