LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Fire officials in Lincoln County responded to a train fire early Saturday.

According to a post on the Lincoln County Fire Station 3 account, crews were called out after 7 a.m. near the crossing by Kentucky Highway 2141.

Officials say the fire ignited in the engine compartment of a Norfolk Southern train after a malfunction set excess oil and fuel alight.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze.

No injures were reported in the incident but traffic near the scene was affected for a couple of hours.
