Police: Man, Daughter Held After Fighting With Emergency Crew At Crash Scene

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A father and daughter were arrested after they were accused of attacking emergency workers responding to a crash on Sunday.

According to police, Gene B. Southworth fought with emergency personnel who responded to a single vehicle injury crash in the 1000 block of Speedwell Road.

Police said Southworth was pulling workers away from a vehicle involved in the crash and that his daughter Mindy St. Pierre was causing a disturbance.

Police said Southworth refused to leave and then resisted arrest, ending with him being Tasered and handcuffed. St. Pierre is accused of jumping on another firefighter’s back.

Gene B. Southworth was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree disorderly conduct, obstruction of government operations, resisting arrest, third-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief.

St. Pierre was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental operations and third-degree assault.
