LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Catholic Action Center is in full response mode now that the temperatures feel more like winter than fall.

Their Compassionate Caravan has hit the streets of Lexington nine times, far more than usual for this time of year. With the bitter cold, the shelter population stays above capacity and its resources are stretched incredibly thin.

Right now, the primary needs are socks, hats, gloves, hand warmers and extra large coats.

Gas cards are also a help as well.

The Catholic Action Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Donations can be dropped off at any time.
