LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Icy road conditions led to a big mess Tuesday morning on the interstate in Lexington.

Northbound I-75 just cleared after being shut down near the 110 mile marker for several hours while hazmat crews cleaned up a fuel spill.

Police say around 12:30 a.m. a semi spun out on ice and hit the median, causing it to leak diesel. There are no injuries.

All northbound lanes were shut down and traffic was detoured onto Winchester Road.

Officials say this was just one of several accidents that happened on that stretch of interstate.

Remember bridges and overpasses can be the most slippery.
