ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Icy roads caused trouble for drivers in Rockcastle County on Tuesday.

A semi carrying about 3,500 chickens overturned on Old Somerset Pike in Brodhead.

This happened around midnight.

LEX 18 spoke to the driver who said he’s not familiar with the area, and slid off the road after hitting a slick spot. Thankfully he was not injured.

It took crews several hours to clean up the road, and wrangle some of the loose chickens back onto the truck.

The road is now back open.
