FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Even with the cold temperatures, some students at Kentucky State University will still be without heat for a little while longer.

For about two weeks, several buildings on campus – including a dorm – have been dealing with HVAC outages.

A replacement part was supposed to be delivered Monday, but the university released an update saying the manufacturer had difficulties completing the custom part.

Students in the dorm were offered a space heater, or given the option to stay at the Capital Plaza Hotel.

“I’m going to stay here, I mean, it’s too much going back and forth and trying to get there to classes on time and everything else… it’s too much,” said Larissa Williams, a freshman at KSU.

The replacement part is expected to be delivered Friday and campus officials say it will be installed immediately.
