MAYSVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Maysville police tell LEX 18 that two people were assaulted in their own homes last week.
Police say that a woman was talking with the homeowner on Tuesday when a man rushed in and beat up that homeowner. The pair got away with a cellphone and money.
The homeowner had bruises and a cut over his eyebrow that he said is from the attack. He told LEX 18 that he had helped this woman before. He said that she took all of his cash and took his Visa card out.
Maysville police said that the next day, a similar crime happened at an apartment complex downtown. Police were able to tie the two crimes together because of several similarities.
Police say that in both cases, it appears that the suspects targeted the victim. Both victims knew the woman, authorities say.
