FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Frankfort woman was sentenced to five years for complicity to murder in the 2017 death of her son.

Deanna Hose and her boyfriend Randell Dennemann were charged in the death of 3-year-old Avery Hose.  Officials at Frankfort Regional Medical Center contacted police on a suspicion of child abuse when the boy was in the hospital.

Avery died a few days later. An autopsy showed he died of blunt force trauma.

Dennemann is charged with murder in the case. Hose pleaded guilty to complicity to commit murder and was sentenced Friday in Franklin County.

The judge said that while the court recognized that she had no previous criminal record, bad decisions led to a tragic result.

Dennemann is still awaiting trial on his murder charge.
