LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A teenager has been charged in connection to a shooting in Lexington.
According to police, a 17-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection to a shooting of another teenager last week.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, officers were dispatched to Carlisle Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers located a 16-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The suspect is charged with Assault 1st, Receiving Stolen Property (firearm), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Substance (cocaine).
The investigation revealed that a drug deal led up to the shooting. Police are prohibited from releasing the suspect’s name because he is a juvenile.
