(WPSD) — In the category of headlines we weren’t sure we would ever have to write, an alligator has been spotted in Ballard County.
According to our sister station WPSD Local 6, an alligator is on the loose in Wickliffe. The animal was first spotted by a man and his grandson who were using the wooded area for duck hunting.
It’s safe to say they found a little more than they bargained for.
“:I really though someone was playing a trick on me. I pulled up to about here and he raised his head up. That’s when I took the second picture. We backed out real slow trying not to disturb him,” hunter Chris Drummond told WPSD.
Kentucky Wildlife officials are working to catch the creature safely, using baits with raw meat over the water. So far, no gator sightings as of sundown.
