SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– An event in Scott County will honor area firefighters while also helping a retired battalion chief in need.

“Fries with a Firefighter” will give people the chance to connect with crews from Scott County, Georgetown, and Stamping Ground fire departments.

All proceeds from fry sales will go to Johnnie Jacobs.

He was forced to retire from the force after 24 years because of a degenerative lung condition he picked up on the job.

The event is Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the McDonald’s on Connector Road in Georgetown.
