(LEX 18) – Kentucky native MaKenzie Thomas needs votes to make it to the Top 8 of NBC’s “The Voice.”
On Monday night, she sang Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.”

Folks were voting like crazy in Fleming County at a watch party at the local Dairy Queen.
“I’ve always known from the time she was little that she was going to do something wonderful with her singing and her voice,” said MaKenzie’s mother, Theresa Thomas.
MaKenzie soared through the first several rounds and landed herself a spot in the Top 10. The watch party said that regardless of whatever the outcome will be Tuesday night, she has a village behind her.
