FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– An 8-year-old boy was killed in an overnight fire in Floyd County.
US 23 was shut down for several hours due to the fire that broke out just after 11 p.m. Monday.
Smoke continued to roll out of the home several hours after the fire was extinguished. The child’s body was found inside the house. The boy’s father was transported to the hospital with cuts and burns.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until their family is notified. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and has not been determined at this time.
