LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington police horse is on the mend.
Yoder got his leg stuck Tuesday night in an uncovered utility hole in downtown Lexington.
The horse got stuck around 6:30 p.m. on East Sixth Street and Elm Tree Lane as Yoder was headed to the Lexington Christmas parade.
Firefighters and veterinarians worked for nearly two hours to rescue the animal, while a crowd gathered to watch.
Officials tell LEX 18 that Yoder suffered some minor cuts but no broken bones.
Police say Yoder is at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, where he has been standing and eating.
