Ex-Educator Sentenced For Woodford Co. Rape Charge

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A former Kentucky school employee convicted of having sex with an underage student has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Lindsey Banta Jarvis was facing charges in two counties. She pleaded guilty in Woodford County to rape and sodomy charges and is scheduled to be sentenced in Fayette County on Friday on a rape charge involving the same student. She is to report to jail in Woodford County on Friday.

Jarvis resigned last year from Fayette Co. Schools where she worked as an instructional assistant.

Before that, she worked in the Woodford County School District as a social studies teacher.
