LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3) – Louisville Metro Animal Services has reached maximum capacity — again.

To help make room for animals coming in, the shelter is waiving redemption fees for owners to pick up their pets who were brought in as strays.

The fees will be waived through the month of December.

Owners can claim their pets at the LMAS Shelter on Manslick Road during the week from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The shelter always waives the adoption fees for dogs weighing at least 40 pounds.

If LMAS can’t free up some room, the shelter’s no-kill status could be in danger.
