PIKEVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)- A major weekend winter storm affecting much of the south interrupted service for slightly more than 1,000 Kentucky Power customers. Up to 6 inches of heavy wet snow caused trees out of the right-a-way to fall, bringing down wire and breaking poles and cross arms.
Crews are working to return power to customers. The most recent outage totals are as follows:
