PIKEVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)- A major weekend winter storm affecting much of the south interrupted service for slightly more than 1,000 Kentucky Power customers. Up to 6 inches of heavy wet snow caused trees out of the right-a-way to fall, bringing down wire and breaking poles and cross arms.
Crews are working to return power to customers. The most recent outage totals are as follows:
As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, about 530 customers were without power.
- Floyd, 86
- Lawrence, fewer than 5
- Leslie, 22
- Letcher, 13
- Perry, 32
- Pike, 370
