Russell Springs Man Accused Of Beating Cat To Death, Threatening Family

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (WJRS)– A Russell Springs man was arrested Friday after he allegedly beat a cat to death with a baseball bat.

35-year-old Brently Ray Vaught, is also accused of holding a rifle to the heads of a woman and his 4-year-old son, and punching the woman.

Vaught was charged with animal torture, wanton endangerment first-degree and fourth-degree assault stemming from several incidents over the span of four months.

He remains lodged in the Russell County Detention Center with no bond.
