WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Wolfe County Coroner said Monday evening that a person has died, apparently as the result of a home fire.
Few details were made immediately available, but officials confirmed that a body was being recovered from a fire scene at a mobile home along Lacy Creek Road in Hazel Green.
The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Maggie Lee Davis, of Campton.
The coroner says she got around using a walker and her husband had gone to work although, her brother says she was not supposed to be left alone due to her medical condition.
A neighbor told the family they saw her husband come back and check on her last night, and shortly after he left, Maggie’s home was on fire.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
