SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – It seems that the puppy who was left for dead in a frozen creek is adjusting to her new home very well.

Chapel was placed in a plastic bag and was thrown into a creek alongside Highway 32 near Sadieville. Two good samaritans saw the puppy trying to break free. One of the men jumped into the freezing cold water.

The puppy is blind and deaf and the Scott County Shelter hypothesizes she could not be used as a breeding dog and was left for dead as a result.  She will be sent to “Speak for the Unspoken” animal rescue that specializes in placing dogs with disabilities into good homes.

The shelter gave sweet Chapel a Christmas shoot. We think she’ll get lots of toys from Santa this year.
