LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people have been arrested on drug charges after police found cocaine in their child’s baby formula canister.

Police arrested Jamara Burnside and Lemon Allen on Wednesday.

According to their arrest citations, back in June officers were called to a daycare facility where they found a plastic baggie with what they believed to be cocaine inside a can of baby formula.

Both parents denied knowing anything about the cocaine.

Officers later searched their car and home, and found other drugs.

Upon talking to a social worker, police were told their child’s umbilical cord tested positive for cocaine and marijuana at birth.

Both Burnside and Allen are facing wanton endangerment and drug possession charges.
