Clay, Bourbon Co. Schools Receive Threats

(LEX 18) – Two schools received threats via social media on Friday. Several parents have contacted the LEX 18 newsroom.

In Manchester, police confirm that Clay County Schools learned of a post on social media alleging that a child was going to take a gun to school.

After many hours and many interviews with students, officers determined there was no threat of a gun or a shooting  The student made the threat of telling random people that they had better not come to school tomorrow.

The student in question was removed from the school.

Parents in Bourbon County received an email informing them that a threat was made. The person who allegedly made the threat is being questioned by police.

There is an increased police presence at Bourbon Co. High School.
