SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Scott County firefighters were called out just before midnight Saturday to a fire at a Sadieville home that killed five pets.
Officials said the blaze broke out at home on Vine Street. Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly, and the damage largely was confined to one room near the rear of the residence.
Officials said no one was home at the time of the fire but that one dog and four cats died in the blaze.
One other dog was rescued, officials said.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
