LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The suspect in a triple murder appeared in court early Tuesday to answer to multiple charges against him.

Due to the high-security risk, the arraignment for Paul Douglas Sizemore was held before the media arrived.

Last week, following a search that lasted parts of three days, Sizemore was charged with the murders of Larry, Norma and Chad Bowling of Leslie County as well as with the attempted murder of a Kentucky State Police trooper.

Sizemore was also convicted of murder in the late 1980s in the death of Ruth Ann Osborne.

Osborne’s sister Lisa Osborne Williams spoke with LEX 18 last week and said he brutalized her sister.

“He treated her like some kind of animal he hunted. She was a beautiful person, it destroyed our family,” she said.

In court, Sizemore didn’t say a word. An appointed attorney entered a not guilty plea on all charges. Sizemore continues to be held on $1,000,000 bond, and his pre-trial hearing is now scheduled for Dec. 27. at 1 p.m.
