ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man accused of acting inappropriately toward a foreign exchange student he was hosting has been sentenced.

Officials say Chad Woolums pled guilty to unlawful transaction with a minor third-degree on Nov. 9.

Woolums was arrested in February after police say he showed up at Anderson County High School with flowers and perfume for the girl.

He was also accused of giving the girl alcohol and sexually abusing her.

The student was granted emergency protection.

He was then sentenced to 12 months and conditionally discharged for two years.

A fine of $165 is due by May 7.
