BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — An officer-involved shooting in Butler County sent one person to an area hospital in critical condition.
According to state police, dispatch received a call around 2 a.m. Thursday to assist Butler County emergency dispatch with a domestic dispute.
Fish and Wildlife officer Jonathan Barks was nearby and responded.
Bark arrived on the scene to find Gary Ranburger standing in the yard armed with a gun.
A confrontation ensued, and Ranburger and Banks exchanged gunfire.
Ranburger was struck multiple times and was flown to an area hospital in critical condition.
