LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Clark Memorial Bridge is back open after barges ran into it.
This happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday towards the Indiana side of the bridge.
The bridge was shut down in both directions for several hours as a safety precaution.
Officials say three barges broke loose from a tow and hit the bridge.
We’re told there is no visible damage.
This is the second incident involving barges in Louisville in the past week. Last Friday, a barge hit the overlook wall in Waterfront Park.
