LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Investigators on Wednesday night will return to the scene of the crash that killed an LMPD detective two days ago.

I-64 eastbound will be closed between Ninth and Third streets to allow investigators a second look at the scene.

Investigators will reconstruct the crash scene, which means I-64 east will be closed near the Ninth Street/Roy Wilkins Boulevard exit. Drivers in that area will be required to exit at Ninth Street and can proceed east on Market Street to Second Street, where they can get back on I-64 east. The closure will begin at 11 p.m.

Access to I-64 east from Main and Market streets, near Ninth Street, also will be closed overnight.

All lanes of I-64 west will remain open, as will westbound entrance and exit ramps.
