LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is raising funds to help the family of the Louisville Police officer killed in a Christmas Eve crash.
Detective Dee Dee Mengedoht was struck and killed during a traffic stop on I-64 in Louisville. She leaves behind a 9-year-old son.
“We are heartbroken at the loss of our Detective Dee Dee Mengedoht on Christmas Eve. Our prayers are with her 9-year-old son and the rest of her family, both blood and blue. We have had several people reach out wanting to make a donation to her son. We have started a fund at the Foundation in Dee Dee’s name for this purpose,” reads a post to their Facebook page.
