Victim Identified In Deadly Franklin House Fire

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. (WNKY) – The state fire marshal’s office will begin an investigation Wednesday into a deadly house fire in Franklin.

One person was found deceased after a home on Mayes Lane caught fire Monday, according to the coroner.

Neighbors told WNKY they saw the blaze at about 5:30 a.m. They said more than one person lived in the home.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Justin Holcomb.

A preliminary autopsy report indicates Holcomb died of smoke inhalation.

Officials say there was no one else killed or was injured in the fire.
