SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) -If you need some inspiration to kick butt in 2019, look no further than Scott County Deputy Jaime Morales.
The 28-year-old’s life changed on September 11, 2018. He was shot while going after a serial bank robber. His injury left him partially paralyzed.
The community has rallied around the deputy, who continues to inspire all those around him with his courage.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Department shared a video of Morales working out with the caption, “Let this motivate you in 2019! No excuses for sitting when people like Deputy Jaime Morales keep grinding! #217Strong”
Commenters voiced their support for the deputy’s strength and courage.
Morales told LEX 18’s Leigh Searcy in an interview last month that he will continue working to get stronger.
“We have seen some improvement, but we’ve also regressed in some areas, but we’re fighting through it,” said Morales.
