MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly fire.

It happened around 2 a.m. Monday on Lauren Lane.

The first deputy arrived on scene within 5 minutes of being dispatched and discovered half of the mobile home engulfed in flames.

57-year-old Dina Funderburk was outside of the residence when help arrived. She told officials they awoke to smoke in the residence. Her husband, 51-year-old Edward Funderburk had pushed her outside and returned inside the burning structure in efforts to rescue her mother, 82-year-old Joan Dale.

Both Edward and Joan were located inside the residence deceased.

Officials say no foul play is suspected. It is believed the fire may have started from a cigarette, based upon the preliminary investigation.

Dina was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.
