LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – High water continues to make it difficult for crews to remove a car that crashed during severe weather earlier this week.
The crash happened on New Year’s Eve on Winchester Road near Polo Club. The driver of that vehicle is lucky to be alive. He told LEX 18 that he hydroplaned off the road and into a swollen creek.
He struggled to make it out of the vehicle but managed to swim to safety.
The driver tells LEX 18 that his tires were completely bald and he had just purchased new ones for the vehicle but he had yet to replace them.
Currently, crews are back on the scene but have yet to pull the car out.
