LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) –  A Louisville school teacher has been charged with multiple counts of unlawful transaction with a minor after police found juveniles attending a party at her home where alcohol was being served and marijuana was being used.

According to WAVE 3 News, Lindsey Evonne Lewis, 36, of Mount Washington, was arrested on Jan 1. following a party at her home.

Mount Washington police were called to the home just before 1 a.m. by a neighbor who reported their property had been damaged by teenagers driving to and from a party next door.

Arriving officers said there were nearly 40 people inside the house and a number of juveniles were attempting to leave. Lewis told officers she was the adult in charge at the home.

An arrest report for Lewis says 14 of the people in the house were juveniles. Officers reported seeing numerous bottles of alcohol and said there was a strong smell of marijuana.

Police said Lewis, who appeared to be impaired, knowingly hosted a party where juveniles were using marijuana and alcohol.

A JCPS spokesperson confirms that Lewis is a teacher at Phoenix School of Discovery and has been with the district since 2016. Lewis is listed on the contact page for the school as an Exceptional Child Educator.
