Two Facing Arson And Theft Charges

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two men received charges Wednesday stemming from an investigation that happened in September 2018.

KSP says that while Glenn Powell was in custody and charged with murder, two people broke into his home and stole items from the home including two vehicles from the driveway. The residence was then set on fire and left to burn.

KSP Detective Jake Wilson charged 32-year-old Travis Marcum, of Brimble, and 36-year-old Daniel Edwards, of Brimble, with arson, second-degree theft by unlawful taking (auto), and burglary, second-degree.

The two worked together while committing hte crimes, according to KSP. One of the stolen vehicles was found at a junkyard, but the other has not been located.  KSP said that the residence was set on fire by a handheld torch while the men were inside.

Marcum admitted to the crimes, according to KSP, while Edwards admitted to being in possession of several of the items from the residence and one of the stolen vehicles.

The case remains under investigation.
