LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18 ) – Former state auditor Adam Edelen has officially filed paperwork to run in the 2019 Kentucky governor’s race.

Edelen confirms that he will seek the Democratic nomination to run.

His paperwork announced that he will run alongside Gill Holland.  A website has also been created under Adam Edelen’s name, but there is no information on the page at this time.

Edelen joins Democrats Andy Beshear and Rocky Adkins in the primary.

Matt Bevin announced last year he would seek re-election but has not filed paperwork to raise money for his campaign.

Republican William Wood and running mate Justin Miller have filed with the Registry of Election Finance to raise money for a campaign.

The Kentucky primary for governor will be May 21, 2019.
