LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Lexington Police Department continues to investigate a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred in October, and is again asking the community for help in identifying the people involved.

Investigators with the Collision Reconstruction Unit believe a light colored Kia Spectra was the vehicle that struck and killed a 47-year-old man who was standing next to a bicycle Oct. 20 on North Limestone near Constitution Street.

On Thursday, police released surveillance video that captured the incident. Video shows that the two individuals in the Spectra got out of the vehicle following the collision, however, neither called for help and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Investigators are hoping the public will be able to identify the driver and passenger, shown on the video, based on their appearance and mannerisms

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the police department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit by calling (859) 258-3663.

Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be sent anonymously through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020 or www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
