LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) -The man accused of planning a mass shooting at a Washington County factory is now in trouble for something else.
Back on Dec. 29, officials at the Marion Co Detention Center say Matthew Smith attempted to set fire to the place by using his bed sheets, headphone wires and an outlet in a common area.
He was not successful and the damage was barely noticeable, but Smith is now spending his days in isolation, away from the general population.
The county attorney is looking into this incident and it’s likely Smith will be facing additional charges.
