FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles has filed his paperwork to seek re-election in 2019.

Quarles began his term as Agriculture Commissioner in 2016 and served as the youngest statewide elected official in the nation. He is a native Scott Countian.

“I am looking forward to hitting the campaign trail and putting the tailgate down on farm trucks across the Commonwealth to discuss the successes the agriculture community has achieved over the last three years and how we continue to move agriculture the 21st century,” Quarles said. “We’re going to take our positive farm-tested, field ready message to the people and continue to work to make not only our farmers, but all the people of Kentucky proud.”

Republican Bill Polyniak has filed to run against Quarles in the primary.
