Laurel Co. Sheriff: 3 Arrested For Trafficking Over 2 Lbs. Of Meth

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Three people have been arrested in Laurel County following a major drug bust.

It happened around 10:22 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 770.

According to the sheriff’s department, the arrests occurred after their detectives and the London office of the DEA developed information on a large amount of crystal meth headed into Laurel County.

Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Cadillac Escalade and discovered over two pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

The three individuals arrested were identified as:

  • The driver of the vehicle – James L. Coulter, 39, of Louisville, charged with possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine
  • Robert A. Thornsberry, 40, of Shepherdsville, charged with possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine
  • Stephaine J. Richard, 32, of Lebanon Junction, charged with possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine

All three arrested individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
