Lexington Police Seek Owner Of Found Urn

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Lexington Police are trying to find the owner of a found urn containing cremains.

On Friday, January 4, 2019, an anonymous citizen called police in reference to locating a small urn containing ashes. The caller advised he works at an auto auction center and found a velvet box while performing his work responsibilities of cleaning cars, and later discovered there was an urn in the box. Unfortunately, he could not recall anything about the car in which the urn was located.

Officers booked the urn into Property and Evidence. It is approximately three inches tall and features blue flowers, white doves and gold trim. The urn’s box indicates the item as “Going Home Sky Blue Keepsake.”

Lexington police want to find the family it belongs to, they say that the family may not be from Lexington.
