POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Dozens of rescue workers teamed up in Powell County to save a horse stuck in a frigid river.
The Blue Grass Special Response Team was called out Tuesday after the animal became stuck in a river.
The horse, named Katie, was trapped by some branches in the river off Adams Ridge Road in Clay City. Powell county search and rescue crews were called around 10 this morning after someone working on the neighboring farm spotted her.
They aren’t sure exactly how long Katie was in the water, but she appears to be okay.
