LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– President Donald Trump has signed a bill guaranteeing back pay to federal workers, but it won’t come until the shutdown ends.

And as the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history continues with no clear end in sight, a member of the University of Kentucky community is reaching out to those affected.

According to Kentucky Sports Radio, John Calipari confirmed that the Calipari Foundation is working with the non-profit REACH to provide financial assistance to more than 400 furloughed federal employees in Fayette County.

During his call in show, Coach Cal said he and Ellen felt obligated to help when he looked into just how many people in Lexington are being affected.

Those eligible for the grant should have received an email from REACH Wednesday with details and an application.

If you believe you’re eligible and did not receive the email, contact REACH at (859) 455-8057.
