LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18 ) The city of Lexington wants to alert the public that the expansion of the Lexington Center will require a limited amount of blasting over the next couple of weeks.
Small blasts will occur intermittently over the next two months between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Blasting will not occur every day. A loud whistle will sound 5 minutes before, and 5 minutes after, the blast.
The blasting area will be covered with large mats to prevent flying rock and suppress dust.
