JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A dog is dead and a family is displaced after a fire damaged their home Wednesday night.
It happened around 11 p.m. on Woodview Drive in Nicholasville.
Crews say that when they got there, fire and smoke was pouring from the home.
The fire started in the kitchen and firefighters were able to contain it to one side of the duplex.
Two adults, one child, and another dog made it out safely.
Investigators say the home did not have a working smoke detector.
