Domestic Violence Call Ends In Standoff

BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people are in the hospital after a standoff in Paris, Kentucky.

Paris police say that they responded to a domestic violence call on Lileston Avenue Tuesday morning around 2:15 a.m.

They say that a woman was allegedly stabbed by a man named Brian Fields. At some point, she had a relationship with Fields. She had a DVO against him.

Fields took off, but police say he eventually came back to the house and police spotted him. They chased him inside where he then locked himself in a room.

During the standoff, police say Fields cut himself in the neck with some type of glass.

Police eventually got into the room and the scene was secure around 5:45 a.m.

Both Fields and the woman are at UK Hospital.

She is in critical condition.

Police say that they are in the process of filing charges.
