LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Due to widespread illness, all Fayette County Public Schools will be closed Friday.
Officials say they have been monitoring absences all week, and have continued to see a downward trend.
Student attendance was less than 90 percent at 19 of the district’s schools Thursday, including four of the six high schools. Absences were higher than average at all but three schools district-wide.
Custodians will take Friday to deep clean and sanitize all of the schools.
